| Sholom, one of the premier healthcare and senior services organizations in the Twin Cities, has a FT opening for a knowledgeable, skilled Maintenance Engineer I at its St. Louis Park campus. This position will be working flexible first shift hours and will require working weekends. Rotating on-call schedule will also be required.
The Maintenance Engineer I performs entry level/apprentice electrical, plumbing or other craft work to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or building elements in good working condition.

Duties: |
Job Functions Include:
- Perform routine preventative maintainence, electrical and plumbing repairs, and basic rough and finished carpentry work.
- Repair buildings, floors, and/or stairs to ensure that all building systems operate efficiently and that the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
- Conduct all fire and life safety system tests, inspections, and maintain corresponding documentation in compliance with federal, state and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications: |
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One or more years of experience in the maintenance of Mechanical Equipment and/or maintenance-related field required.
- One or more years experience with Maintenance Engineer responsibility required, preferably in a long term care setting and/or housing.
- State of MN Special Class Boilers license preferred.
- Must have working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) systems.
- Must have extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems with a thorough understanding of building floor plans, blue prints and schematics.
- Perform heavy work, lifting up to 100 pounds, with frequent lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must possess valid MN driver’s license and valid insurance, and be able to travel around the Twin Cities area.
