Description: |
•Directs, oversees and ensures successful implementation of changes and additions to financial institution consumer lending underwriting policies and procedures, as needed, to best serve community and current market needs.
•Writes proposals to expand consumer lending business.
•Helps develop the Company’s long term strategic development of consumer underwriting policies and practices.
•Researches, evaluates and recommends new lending technologies and systems or other services as necessary.
•Monitors and tracks all underwriting activity to ensure underwriting guidelines are being adhered to and measures practices by all underwriting staff.
•Evaluates effectiveness of underwriting in achieving targets established for different levels of risk.
•Establishes criteria for and monitors portfolio performance to reduce unsecured delinquency.
•Develops industry knowledge of best practices; evaluates on an ongoing basis current consumer loan product offerings and assists in making sure products are up-to-date and leading-edge.
•Oversees and recommends upgrades and improvements to financial institution consumer underwriting policies and procedures; ensures that changes to these policies and procedures are implemented as necessary.
•Assists in developing, preparing, implementing, and monitoring of internal controls to audit loan decisions, funding, and system input including compliance in all areas of lending.
•Drives and supports strategic initiatives.
•Builds strong relationships with Consumer Lending teams to implement process, policy and procedure improvements.
•Collaborates with and works closely with Heights Finance’s, Pioneer Financial Services’,and other MCFC entities’ management teams.

Qualifications: |
Minimum Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or related field
•7-10 years of experience with progressively greater responsibilities in a consumer lending environment.
•Thorough understanding of loan documentation criteria and financial institution services, products, policies and procedures, as well as overall business objectives for the Consumer Lending Department.
•Excellent leadership, communication and management skills.
•Knowledge of lending and underwriting policies and procedures, including guidelines issued by FNMA and FHLMC.
•Knowledge of all federal and state regulations regarding lending and related departments.
•Effective communication skills both written and orally.
•Excellent team player.
•Organized and professional
•Ability to work with and collaborate with all internal and external personnel.
