rms Company is a dynamic, world class manufacturing organization for the medical industry. Currently, we are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our team.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in quality systems, product inspection, measurement, gaging techniques, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a team environment. The Quality Engineer is responsible for the definition, implementation, and improvement of quality-related practices and procedures. This position provides technical guidance and measurement methodologies in addition to assisting in problem solving.

Duties: |
Major Areas of Accountability:
Develop inspection plans, facilitate PFMEAs, solve discrepant material issues, and implement control plans.
Perform first article and in-process inspections.
Support new production during the first build of new products.
Coordinate, facilitate, conduct, and document problem solving efforts related to product and process quality.
Analyze data and identify improvement opportunities.
Lead corrective action activities.
Responsible for a group of customers on all quality issues.

Qualifications: |
Minimum 8-10 years as a Quality Engineer in a production support role, preferrabley in a machining environment
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer
ISO Certification of manufacturing process
Knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA, and validation principles
Able to work/communicate with customers, CNC Machinists, and Engineers
Must be able to determine root cause and implement corrective actions
Must be able to read blue prints
Ability to operate inspection equipment such as optical comparator, Micro-Vu, profilometer (surface analyzer), hardness tester, hand gages, and microscopes
Ability to apply routine inspection methods and set up open inspection measurements on surface plates and comparators
Experience in DOE, SPC, and GD and T
Experience with Control Plans and FMEA's
Minitab or other statistical software experience
Must understand GMP
Experience with six sigma and lean manufacturing techniques
Prefer Experience in a medical manufacturing facility within the quality department
Education:
* Bachelor of Science Degree, Preferably in Mechanical Engineering
