Description: |
Provide interpreting services as an independent contractor for State of Minnesota agencies in various legal settings.

Duties: |
| Take on call requests to provide interpreting services. Interpret simultaneously and consecutively from English to target language and target language to English during court interviews, hearings and court proceedings. Provide sight translations of documents such as court petitions, reports, notices and agreements during interviews, hearings and court proceedings. |
Qualifications: |
| Certified as a MN Court Interpreter or enrolled on the MN Court Interpreter Roster. Demonstrate a mastery of English and the target language at the level of a highly educated native speaker; and have a thorough understanding of legal concepts in both languages. Demonstrate the ability to interpret in simultaneous, consecutive, and sight translation modes; and be able to convey messages accurately, completely and promptly. |
